ABOUT JESSIE MICHAELS
Songwriter and vocalist most well known as the frontman of the ska punk band Operation Ivy. He is often recognized for his topical lyrics concerning politics, racism, and other social issues.
He became interested in punk and hardcore music in the early 1980s. After being involved in a number of experimental garage bands, he formed Operation Ivy.
A skilled artist and oil painter, he has exhibited many of his works around the West Coast and used them as official artwork for Operation Ivy.
He is the son of renowned essayist Leonard Michaels .
Both he and Dicky Barrett are popular ska punk singers.
