ABOUT JETSUN PEMA
Sister to the 14th Dalai Lama and activist, most known for serving as the President of the Tibetan Children's Villages school system for 42 years.
She studied at the Loreto Convent in Darjeeling, where she finished her Senior Cambridge in 1960.
In 1999, she was awarded a UNESCO medal.
She grew up with her brother in Lhasa, who would end up becoming the 14th Dalai Lama.
She portrayed her real life mother in the 1997 film, Seven Years in Tibet, which starred Brad Pitt .
