ABOUT JIM SCHWANTZ

Perhaps best known for his association with such National Football League teams as the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears, this professional linebacker also had a career as a politician, taking office in 2009 as Mayor of Palatine, Illinois.

He played his college football career at Purdue University.

After playing for the Chicago Bears and the Dallas Cowboys in the early 1990s, he joined the San Francisco 49ers during the team's 1997 season.

He was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois, and he graduated from William Fremd High School in nearby Palatine.

He and Larry Allen both played for the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers.
