ABOUT JOANNE ROGERS

Wife of Fred Rogers who starred in the beloved TV series Mister Rogers' Neighborhood . She was the inspiration for the show's puppet character Queen Sara.

She earned a master's degree in music at Florida State University in Tallahassee.

She performed for nearly 40 years in a piano duo with her college friend Jeannine Morrison.

She had two sons, James and John, and three grandsons.

She helped promote the 2019 film A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood , in which Tom Hanks played her husband.
