ABOUT JOE BURNS

Australian cricketer who often plays as the opening batsman. He's represented Queensland at the club level and has played ODI and Test matches for Australia.

He made his first-class debut with the Sheffield Shield in 2011, scoring a 140. He was named Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year in 2013.

He started representing Australia in Test cricket at the end of 2014, and recorded his first Test century in 2015.

He grew up in Herston, a suburb of Brisbane.

He and Aaron Finch have both played for Australia as opening batsmen.
