ABOUT JOE ROSS
Pitcher who was the 25th overall pick by the San Diego Padres in the 2011 MLB Draft. He was later traded to the Washington Nationals , with whom he made his MLB debut in 2015. He won the 2019 World Series as a member of the Nationals.
He attended Bishop O'Dowd High School and had an offer to play at UCLA, but went pro instead.
He broke the double-digit strikeout barrier in only his third career start, recording 11 punch-outs in a win against the Pirates.
His brother Tyson is also an MLB pitcher. His sister played college soccer.
He and shortstop Trea Turner were part of the three-team deal that sent Ross to the Nationals.
