ABOUT JOE SALDANA
Retired race car driver most famous for his time in the CART and USAC Championship Car series. He is the winner of notable events like the 1970 Knoxville Nationals and finished in the top ten a total of ten times.
He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and bought his first car in 1961 for $500.
He is a member of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.
His son, Joey Saldana, is also a sprint car driver.
He and Indiana-born driver Kraig Kinser are both winners of the Knoxville Nationals.
