ABOUT JOEY BELTRAN

American Light Heavyweight MMA fighter who has competed in UFC, Strikeforce, King of the Cage and Bellator, posting notable victories over fighters like Vladimir Matyushenko . He is a 5150 Combat League Heavyweight Champion.

He grew up in Carlsbad, California and took up boxing at age ten. He later competed as a Heavyweight on the Carlsbad High School wrestling team.

His UFC fights against Matt Mitrione and James Te Huna both won Fight of the Night honors.

He was raised by his mother in a single-parent home.

He defeated Houston Alexander via technical knockout to take the 5150 Combat League Heavyweight Title in January 2010.
