ABOUT JOEY WENTZ

Professional pitcher that was drafted by the Atlanta Braves during the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft. He was later acquired by the Detroit Tigers via trade in July 2019.

He is a graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School. He later enrolled in the University of Virginia where he played college baseball for mutliple seasons.

He made his official major league debut pitching against the Oakland Athletics on May 11, 2022 as a member of the Tigers. His team lost the game 9-0.

He is a native of Lawrence, Kansas. He has a brother named Vance who plays basketball. He has dated Margot Rhyner.

He was once packaged in a trade that included Shane Greene .
