John Franklin Bardin
ABOUT JOHN FRANKLIN BARDIN
An American crime fiction writer, he is known for such novels as The Deadly Percheron, The Last of Philip Banter, and Devil Take the Blue-Tail Fly. He published his final work, Purloining Tiny, in 1978.
After studying engineering at the University of Cincinnati, he worked for Edwin Bird Wilson, Inc., a New York City advertising agency.
He wrote ten novels over the course of his career.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to a coal merchant father. His second wife was Phyllida Bardin.
He cited Henry James as one of his literary influences.
