ABOUT JOHN BRASS
Former five-eighth for the Eastern Suburbs from 1969 to 1976. He captained Australia to a victory against New Zealand in the 1975 Rugby World Cup.
He played junior football for the South Coogee juniors.
He signed to the Eastern Suburbs club for a then-record contract of $30,000.
He made himself unavailable for the 1972 Rugby League World Cup for family reasons.
He and Mitch Inman both played amateur rugby at Randwick.
