ABOUT JOHN O. BRENNAN
Government official who became the Director of the CIA in March 2013, taking over a controversial War on Terror. Prior to his nomination to head up the CIA, he spent 25 years in intelligence and counterterrorism, and was involved in the George W. Bush -era prisoner interrogation that some called torture.
In 1977 he received a B.A. in political science from Fordham and later earned his Masters in government from the University of Texas at Austin.
A fluent Arabic speaker, and known for his no-nonsense attitude, he once confronted a top Iranian spy in broad daylight on the streets of Saudi Arabia.
He had a son and twin daughter with wife Kathy Pokluda Brennan.
He was one of the men in charge of the Seal Team Six raid that killed Osama bin Laden , and he described watching the raid as one of the most anxiety-filled moments in the lives of the people watching it.
