John Wynne Griffith
ABOUT JOHN WYNNE GRIFFITH
Whig Party politician and two-term Member of the United Kingdom Parliament. He represented the Denbigh Boroughs constituency of Wales from 1818 until 1826.
In 1818, he replaced Viscount Kirkwall as a Member of Parliament for the district of Denbigh Boroughs.
A scientific enthusiast as well as a politician, he was knowledgeable in the lichenology sub-field of mycology (fungus biology).
He was a native of Garn, North Wales.
He was born in the same year as Wolfe Tone , a fellow British Isles politician and a founder of Irish Republicanism.
