American actor who played the role of editor, Perry White on the television series, Adventures of Superman.

He worked on Broadway early in his acting career before he made his film debut in 1930.

He attended Shippensburg State Teacher's College before deciding he rather be an actor than a teacher.

He was born the youngest of four children and had a son.

He starred in Adventures of Superman with George Reeves .
