ABOUT JOHN KING

Professional southpaw that was drafted by Texas Rangers during the tenth round of the 2017 Major League Draft. Prior to being drafted, he played college baseball at the University of Houston for two years. During his senior year, he won the 2017 American Conference Championship and he was named to the American Conference All-Tournament team.

He is a graduate of William P. Clements High School in Sugar Land, Texas. He originally committed to play baseball at Angelina Community College.

He made his major league debut pitching against the Seattle Mariners on September 4, 2020. He pitched two innings and recorded one strikeout.

He grew up living with his family in Laredo, Texas. He is the oldest of two siblings.

He pitched against Kyle Seager and Dylan Moore during his MLB debut.
