John Clayton Nienstedt
ABOUT JOHN CLAYTON NIENSTEDT
American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who was installed as the Archbishop of St. Paul and Minneapolis in 2008.
He earned a Bachelor's degree in sacred theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome in 1972.
In 2012 he spent over a half a million dollars of the Church's money to send DVD's and letters to Catholic household that told them to vote for an amendment that would ban same sex marriage in Minnesota.
He has two brothers and three sisters.
He received the pallium from Pope Benedict XVI in St. Peter's Basilica in 2008.
