ABOUT JOHN PENISINI

American football defensive tackle. He was selected by the Detroit Lions in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. On May 22, 2020, the Lions signed him to a four-year contract.

He played football at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. He transferred to the University of Utah for his sophomore season.

In November 2020, he recorded his first career sack on P.J. Walker of the Carolina Panthers .

He was born in California to Tongan immigrant parents.

In January 2021, Dan Campbell was announced as the new head coach of the Lions.
