ABOUT JOHN PETRUCCI
Renowned guitarist who founded the progressive metal band Dream Theater. He was ranked as the #17 greatest guitarist in Guitar World Magazine.
He started playing guitar when he was twelve years old. His quintet first performed under the name Majesty, later changing to Dream Theater.
In 2009 he was ranked #2 in the book The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists behind Dave Mustaine .
He married Rena Sands in 1993, whom is a guitarist in the all-female heavy metal band Meanstreak. They have three children named Samantha, Renato, and Kiara.
He was childhood friends with Dream Theatre keyboardist Kevin Moore , whose cover band he joined growing up.
