ABOUT JOHN SHRAPNEL
English actor who had roles in both television and film including the role of Senator Gaius in Gladiator and Nestor in Troy .
He started out as a stage actor and was a member of Laurence Olivier's Royal National Theatre company and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
He also starred in BBC Radio dramas including Colin Dexter's Inspector Morse and William Gibson's Neuromancer.
He married Francesca Ann Bartley and they had three sons.
He co-starred with Simon Callow in Chemical Wedding.
