ABOUT JORDAN WEEMS

Professional pitcher that was drafted by the Boston Red Sox during the third round of the 2011 Major League Draft. He was later signed by the Washington Nationals in February 2022. He has also pitched in the Oakland Athletics and Arizona Diamondbacks farm systems.

He was selected out of Columbus High School in Columbus, Georgia. Originally, he was drafted as a catcher.

He made his official major league debut pitching against the Colorado Rockies on July 28, 2020 as a member of the Athletics. He struck out the very first batter he faced.

He grew up living with his family in Columbus, Georgia. His father, Rick, played in the St. Louis Cardinals minor league system during the 1980s.

He recorded his first MLB strikeout facing Trevor Story .
