ABOUT JOSE INOCENCIO ALAS
Catholic priest and advocate of peasant rights who was prominent in El Salvador during the 1970s and 1980s.
He began working as a priest in El Salvador in 1961.
He founded the Foundation for Self Sufficiency in Central America in 1996.
He was raised in a family of 10 children in Chalatenango, El Salvador.
He was a friend of Archbishop, Oscar Romero .
