ABOUT JOSEPH BRUCE ISMAY
Entrepreneur best known for serving as the chairman and managing director of the White Star Line a British shipping company. He gained fame for being the highest-ranking company official to survive the sinking of the Titanic in 1912.
In 1899, he became the head of the White Star Line as a result of a family inheritance.
He received immense criticism from both Americans and the British for the sinking of the Titanic. He was even referred to as the "Coward of the Titanic."
He was married to his wife Julia in 1888. They had five children together.
He was portrayed in the movie Titanic by the actor Jonathan Hyde .
