ABOUT JOSH WAYNE SIMPSON

Southpaw relief pitcher that was first selected by the Miami Marlins during the 32nd round of the 2019 Major League Draft. Prior to being drafted, he attended Columbia University . He was named to the Second Team All-Ivy League during his senior season.

He is a graduate of Stafford Public High School in Stafford, Connecticut. He was a High Honors student all-four years of high school and he won two conference titles.

He allowed a career-low .177 opponent batting average during the 2022 minor league season. He also collected a career-high 112 strikeouts.

Growing up, he lived with his family in the Stafford, Connecticut area.

He was selected during the 2019 MLB Draft just like Adley Rutschman .
