ABOUT JULIA JARMAN
Children's writer known for The Time-Travelling Cat series, which debuted in 1992. She is also famous for creating "Georgie," a popular children's literature character.
She attended Manchester University, where she was a student of English and Drama. She published her debut work, When Poppy Ran Away, in 1985.
Her popular Georgie titles include Georgie and the Dragon, Georgie and the Planet Raiders, and Georgie and the Computer Bugs.
Her birth name was Julia Hudspeth. At the time of her birth, her parents lived in Peterborough, England.
She and Michael Morpurgo were contemporaries.
