Julia Lennon
ABOUT JULIA LENNON
Mother to John Lennon of Beatles fame. She was a musician in her own right and even taught her son to play both the banjo and ukelele. She also bought John his first acoustic guitar.
She was raised with four sisters and was the daughter of George and Annie Stanley.
She was killed when an off-duty cop hit her with his car.
Her husband was Alfred Lennon.
John Lennon wrote several songs about his mother following her terrible death including "Julia" and "Mother".
