American author who published the bestselling book Julie & Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen. She passed away from cardiac arrest at the young age of 49.
She majored in theater and creative writing at Amherst college.
She published a follow-up to Julia & Julia called Cleaving: a Story of Marriage, Meat, and Obsession in 2009.
She married the magazine editor Eric Powell.
She was portrayed by Amy Adams in the film adaptation of Julie & Julia.
