ABOUT JULIE VAN ROSENDAAL

Canadian food writer and author who has gained popularity for creating awareness of the increasing hardness of Canadian butter in what became known as Buttergate on social media. She is the author of eight cookbooks including "Dirty Food" and "Starting Out."

She began cooking at the age of three. She attended Bishop Carroll Senior High and graduated from Alberta College of Art and Design.

She has worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Parents Canada magazine, and Western Living magazine, as well as co-hosted the It's Just Food television program.

She has a son named Willem.

She and Eva Marcille share a birthday.
