Producer and DJ who created memorable hip-hop tracks under the name Nujabes. His debut album, Metaphorical Music, came out in 2003. His legacy has influenced rap and electronic music throughout the 2010s and onward.
He listened to a lot of jazz music growing up, which he would later incorporate into his tracks.
He often created tracks and produced the background music for Samurai Champloo, a highly popular hip-hop-oriented anime based out of Japan.
In 2010, he died in a car crash on the Shuto Expressway in Tokyo. He was 36 years old.
Both he and Princess Diana perished in car crashes.
