Junya Itō

ABOUT JUNYA ITō

Professional right winger that originally signed his first club contract with the Japanese based club Ventforet Kofu in the year 2015. Since then, he has played in leagues across countries such a Japan, Belgium, and France. He has also played for the Japanese men's national team.

He initially began playing soccer as a child with the Kamoi Soccer Club. He also played for the Yokosuka Seagulls as a kid.

He scored his first career international goal while playing against Team Costa Rica during the 2018 Kirin Challenge Cup. He and Team Japan won the match with a score of 3-0. He has been a part of the starting lineup for the Japan national team since the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification (AFC). He has scored goals in four consecutive games since the game against Vietnam.

Growing up, he lived with his family in Yokosuka, Japan.

He plays the position of right winger like Riyad Mahrez and Ángel Di María .
