ABOUT KAREN HOWARD

Non-fiction author of several novels, many of which cover the topic of world music, such as First Steps in Global Music, published in 2020, and World Music Pedagogy, published in 2018.

She has a degree in Music Education from The Hartt School, University of Hartford, and a PhD in Music from the University of Washington .

She is an associate professor in music at the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. She is also the editor of the series World Music Initiative through GIA Publications.

She was born in the United States.

She teaches at the University of St. Thomas where the late author Vince Flynn attended.
