ABOUT KARLIS BAUMANIS
Best known for composing "Dievs, svētī Latviju!," the Lavian national anthem.
He lived and worked in Lemsa as a teacher and a journalist.
He was also the first composer to mention Latvia by name in a song.
His parents raised him in Wilkenhof, Latvia.
He and Francis Scott Key both composed national anthems for their respective countries.
