Grammy Award-winning pop and country singer and songwriter who wrote "Constant Craving" and "Miss Chatelaine." Also a philanthropist, she raised money for HIV/AIDS research and care. In 2008, she released her seventh studio album, titled Watershed.

She was inspired to pursue a career in music after listening to the songs of country legend Patsy Cline .

She performed Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Her song "Constant Craving" has accumulated over 40 million streams on Spotify.

She grew up with two sisters and one brother. An open lesbian, she publicly voiced her support for gay rights.

She and Tony Bennett were nominated for a 2003 Best Pop Collaboration Grammy Award for their rendition of "What a Wonderful World."
