Nigerian pop singer/songwriter who rose to fame after appearing as a contestant on the talent show competition America's Got Talent . On the program, she received a standing ovation for her performance of Ed Sheeran 's " Thinking Out Loud ."

She obtained a degree in economics from the University of Thomas in Houston, TX.

She was one of two survivors to walk away from the 2005 Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 plane crash.

She has a younger sister.

She competed on America's Got Talent, which was hosted by Tyra Banks .
