Kenneth Tomlinson

ABOUT KENNETH TOMLINSON

American journalist and government official who served as Chairman of the Board for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

He worked as a reporter for the Richmond Times-Dispatch and as a Vietnam War correspondent for Reader's Digest during the 1960s.

He resigned from his position as Chairman of the Board of the CPB in 2005 while under investigation for alleged illegal and unethical activities in the service of advancing a conservative point of view in television programs supported by funding from the CPB.

He married Rebecca Moore in 1975, and the couple became parents to two sons.

He was appointed by President Ronald Reagan to serve as Voice of America Director, Chairman of the National Commission on Libraries and Information Science, and member of the Board for International Broadcasting.
