Irish guitarist, singer, songwriter, and composer who is a member of the alternative rock band My Bloody Valentine .
In his first band, the Complex, he met future My Bloody Valentine drummer Colm Ó Cíosóig.
Although he moved back to Ireland at the age of ten, he still has a U.S. passport and travels frequently.
He was born the eldest of five children to a mother who was a nurse and a father who worked as a food industry executive.
He did the musical accompaniment to Patti Smith 's reading of her book Coral Sea.
