He gained national attention at Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour, where he went up against other top prospects.

He played his high school football at Jacksonville Trinity Christian.

He was born in Chicago, Illinois. His father played baseball and competed in track at Grambling State.

He was recruited by coach Les Miles to play football at LSU.
