Khaled Meshaal
ABOUT KHALED MESHAAL
Palestinian politician who became the leader of the Hamas political bureau after the Israeli assassination of Abdel Aziz al-Rantissi in 2004.
He earned a bachelor's degree in Physics from Kuwait University.
On 25 September 1997, he was the target of an assassination attempt carried out by the Israeli Mossad under orders from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as retaliation for the 1997 Mahane Yehuda Market Bombings, two consecutive suicide bombings carried out by Hamas militants which killed 16 people and injured 178.
His family moved to Kuwait after the Six Day War. He married Amal Saleh Al-Boureni in 1980 and he has a son named Alwaleed Khaled Mashal.
He has a political relationship with Bill Clinton , who helped him survive his 1997 assassination attempt.
