ABOUT KIERAN DODDS
Documentary photographer known for his research driven photo series and portraiture work. His work has been featured in several different press outlets and publications including National Geographic, The New York Times, GEO, and Smithsonian Magazine.
After studying Zoology at University, he studied photography at the Herald newspaper group in Glasgow where he then worked as an Independent photographer. He earned further recognition in 2006 with his first solo exhibition entitled Just One More.
He is known for having won 1st prize at the World Press Photo awards for his self-assigned story, The Bats of Kasanka. He is also known for having won first prize at the Press Photographer's Year awards in the UK in 2007.
He lived in Edinburgh, Scotland with his wife and twin daughters.
Tim Hetherington is another documentary photographer known for winning a World Press Photo Award.
