In 1981, she formed Sonic Youth with Lee Ranaldo and, her boyfriend at the time, Thurston Moore .
She married Thurston Moore in 1984 the two had a daughter named Coco.
She has collaborated with iconic rock musicians like Courtney Love , including producing Hole's album Pretty on the Inside.
