ABOUT KIRBY SMART

Football coach who was named Alabama 's defensive coordinator in 2008 and helped the team to an undefeated national championship season in 2009. He became head coach of the University of Georgia football team in 2016 and led the team to the National Championship game in just his second year.

He played football at Bainbridge High School in Georgia.

He was a safeties coach for the Miami Dolphins in 2006. His football coaching fame has resulted in him earning more than 70,000 followers on Instagram.

He married Mary Beth Lycett, who used to play college basketball at the University of Georgia.

Cornerback Champ Bailey was his teammate at the University of Georgia and went on to become a Pro Bowl corner in the NFL.
