ABOUT KNOWLES
Rwandan singer-songwriter who rose to fame in 2011 for the release of her debut album Komeza. She would follow in 2013 with the album Uwo Ndiwe.
During her teens, she sang in her local church choir and would later study at the Kigali Institute of Science and Technology.
In 2010, she was named Best New Artiste at the Salax Awards.
She was born Jeanne Ingabire Butera to Jean-Marie Vianney Butera and Marie Claire Uyambaje. Her late mother was the lead singer of a local church choir.
Her stage name was inspired by American R&B singer Beyonce Knowles .
