Award-winning journalist and best-selling author who became known for his investigative reporting for The New York Times. He covered a variety of hot-button topics such as insider trading, accounting scandals and terrorism.

He graduated from Swarthmore College with a degree in political science in 1983.

Some of his most recognized books include Conspiracy of Fools and 500 Days.

He married Dr. Theresa Felicia Pearse in 1990. They have children named Adam, Ryan and Sam.

His book The Informant was turned into a 2009 film starring Matt Damon .
