Professional pitcher that was drafted by the Kansas City Royals during the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft. Prior to being drafted, he attended the University of San Francisco , where he was a two-time first-team All-West Coast Conference member.

He began his professional career playing for the Royals' rookie affiliate team the AZL Royals.

He made his major league debut pitching against the Chicago White Sox on March, 31, 2019.

He is a native of San Francisco, California.

He played alongside Salvador Pérez during the the 2021 MLB season.
