ABOUT LéA GARCIA
Brazilian actress who rose to fame after appearing in the 1959 musical drama film Black Orpheus. Later in her career, she received critical acclaim for her acting in the short film Acalanto and the romantic drama feature O Maior Amor do Mundo. Her television credits include Xica da Silva and Suave Veneno.
She performed in the play Rapsódia Negra before launching her career in film.
In 2007, she won the Prêmio Guarani for Best Supporting Actress for her role in O Maior Amor do Mundo. She was named Best Actress in a Short Film at the 2013 Brazilian Film & Television Festival of Toronto for her performance in Acalanto.
Her birth name is Léa Lucas Garcia de Aguiar. She was the daughter of Stela Lucas Garcia and José dos Santos Garcia.
She worked alongside Taís Araújo on the cast of O Maior Amor do Mundo.
