Author of The Vampire Diaries books which became the show, and of New York Times Bestseller, Night World. Both series' have more than 9 volumes each.
Her English teacher in high school gave her the confidence to pursue writing, she went on to study psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
She had written four Vampire Diaries books by the time the TV show began, after it first aired she would go on to write many more volumes.
She lives in California with her dog, and has spent much of her life living and caring for her mother and sister who both suffered from cancer.
She is associated with the stars of her books subsequent TV show, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder .
