Australian actor known to U.S. and Australian audiences alike for his roles in The Matrix Reloaded , The Matrix Revolutions , and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. His television credits include the comedy-drama series Offspring and the drama series Romper Stomper, a sequel to the 1992 film of the same name. His performance in the latter earned him a Most Outstanding Actor nomination at the Logie Awards.
He studied drama at Wesley College in Melbourne. While there, he performed in a school production of the musical South Pacific.
He was an announcer on the sports show Up the Guts. Prior to the filming of The Dark Knight , it was reported that he was being considered for the role of the Joker.
He is from Melbourne, Australia.
He and Chris Hemsworth worked together on the cast of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
