Bluegrass singer and guitarist who won the International Bluegrass Music Association Male Vocalist of the Year Award twice.
He began playing guitar when he was young, inspired by artists like Wayne Raney.
He won the IBMA for Album of the Year and Recorded Event of the Year for his album 40 in 2005.
His family comes from the Appalachian Mountain area.
His big break was becoming the guitarist for Ralph Stanley and the Stanley Brother Band.
