ABOUT LASCELLES ABERCROMBIE
British poet and literary critic associated with the Georgian and Dymock Poets. His works include Emblems of Love, Speculative Dialogues, and Mary and the Bramble.
He studied at Malvern College and at the University of Manchester. He published his first poetry book, Interludes and Poems, in 1908.
He was chosen over J.R.R. Tolkien in 1922 for an English professorship at the University of Leeds.
His son Michael had a career in cellular biology, and his brother Patrick was an architect.
He, like renowned poet Robert Frost , was a member of a literary group known as the Dymock Poets.
