ABOUT LAUDO LIEBENBERG

Actor and musician perhaps best known for being a founding member, as well as the lead singer, guitarist, and lyricist for his Belville, Cape Town-based South African melodic rock band aKing. One of his most celebrated acting performances was in the role of Dooley on the action-adventure drama television series Black Sails . He also starred as Adrian Klopper in the crime drama series Die Byl and made appearances in shows such as Outlander , Dam, and Projek Dina.

He graduated from Stellenbosch University, where he studied theatre. He went on to star in numerous stage productions throughout South Africa before forming his band and commencing his professional acting career in 2015. He made his screen debut in the short western film Die Versoening Van Daniel Du Randt.

His melodic rock band King won Best Rock Album at the 21st annual South African Music Awards in 2015, for their album "The Morning After." In 2023, he played Benn Beckman in the live-action One Piece TV series.

He married his wife Cara Bastian on October 1, 2016.

He starred in the multi-Emmy Award-winning action-adventure drama series Black Sails, opposite Jessica Parker Kennedy , Toby Stephens , Hannah New , and Luke Arnold .
