ABOUT LAXMAN SIVARAMAKRISHNAN
The top wicket taker in the 1981 World Championship of Cricket, right arm leg-spinner who won the Ranji Trophy title with Tamil Nadu in 1987-88.
He was the youngest member of the Under-19 India squad that toured Sri Lanka at just 18.
He was named as one of the players’ representatives on the International Cricket Council’s cricket committee after his retirement.
His family is of the Brahmin Iyer caste.
He and world-famous all-rounder Robin Singh both played for Tamil Nadu in Ranji Trophy.
